🇭🇰 Found an amazing hidden izakaya/yakitori gem @mokutanhk at Tsim Sha Tsui. Since our 🇯🇵🌸 trip has been cancelled in the light of Japan's mandatory quarantine and new visa requirements, here's a slice of Japan in Hong Kong instead!

Open for dinner only, @mokutanhk's Japanese style entrance is a breath of fresh air at Kimberley Street a.k.a the Korean Street in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Even though the menu is in Cantonese, their friendly English speaking staff is very helpful whenever we have any questions. This is so important for us as a traveller/expat who enjoys good food.

We got to try dishes like Salmon Cartilage, Smoked Pig's Liver, Ox Tongue, White Eel that we don't normally order and were impressed that @mokutanhk does their food really well.

Major stand out dishes of the night: CHICKEN TAIL. It was pure foodgasm. We also love the Pig's Trotter with vinegar, dark sauce and incredibly tender meat and fats which was utterly satisfying.

Don't forget to ask for their seasonal menu. We tried the Uni and Scallop with Toast and it was so good! 🔥 EATING TIP: Always eat your grilled food as soon as it's served. If you like taking photos of what you eat, limit your snapping time to 15 seconds.

Besides the food, I love that they will sanitise everything from the menu, the table to the seats after each seating - that's a peace of mind for me. 📍 @mokutanhk, 8 Kimberley Street, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
